About the Project
This project aimed to design a car parking sensor system using the PIC16F877A microcontroller. The system uses two HC-SR04 ultrasonic sensors to measure the distance and angle of objects near the vehicle and provides audio and visual feedback to the driver to ensure safe parking.
Components Used
- PIC16F877A Microcontroller
- 2 x HC-SR04 Ultrasonic Sensors
- 16x2 LCD Display
- Buzzer (Audio Warning)
- 4 x LED (Visual Warning)
- 20MHz Crystal Oscillator
- Resistors and Capacitors
- 10kΩ Potentiometer
System Working Principle
- Microcontroller (PIC16F877A): Processes data from sensors and controls LCD, LED, and Buzzer.
- Ultrasonic Sensors (HC-SR04): Detects the distance of objects.
- Feedback: As the distance decreases, the Buzzer beeping frequency increases and LEDs light up sequentially to warn the driver. The LCD display shows instantaneous distance information.
Results
The system was tested in various scenarios, including tight parking spaces and reverse maneuvers. The sensors successfully detected objects and gave accurate, timely warnings to the driver. The combination of visual and auditory warnings increased parking safety.
